Metal Expands Its Intelligence Layer Into Investor Relations

Today, after nine months Of development and testing, Metal is launching a full-suite Of Investor Relations (IR) products for private markets. In the below write-up, we provide an overview Of how our platform capabilities fit into the broader evolution in the IR landscape.
In 1997, Amazon went public with an annualized revenue of N$16m. At the time, it was common for high-growth technology companies to go public early in their trajectory. In recent decades, however, the landscape has shifted. Today, private capital markets have gained greater access to capital, allowing deep access to capital without actually going public,
With the above development, founders today use investor updates the same way that public company CEOs have historically used quarterly earnings reports as a forum to create demand for their Company's stock. With Metal's expansion into Investor Relations, we have pushed three major capabilities to our users (with more in the pipeline):
Track, Manage and Optimize Updates — Users can use Al to author, analyze, edit and improve investor updates. Of particular importance is the ability to have our trained Al identi6t areas that should be supported with benchmarks, or language that requires clearer explanations.
Follow On & Next Round Intelligence — In todays venture market, fundraising is quickly becoming less of an event, and more of an ongoing process. Metal now provides deep intelligence on the follow on behaviours of existing investors, as well as the emerging network of investors that recently co-invested with your existing investors.
Consolidate Company Context — By bringing investor updates within the platform, users can now equip Metal to understand their company at a fundamentally deeper level, strengthening their investor fit scores and general insights. The information generated within investor updates directly impacts the fundraising experience for users in-app.
As an industry, venture capital is in a state of rapid evolution. transitioning from a cottage industry into a highly developed ecosystem. With this transition. founders need a unified intelligence layer that fully understands the user's company, the user's set of existing investors, and the ongoing activities associated with the company and its investors.
Our expansion into IR moves us one step closer to building that intelligence layer.
